e-Sword is probably the most popular free Bible software program available today. Click here to visit the e-sword website. Click on the 'Downloads' page to download the program.
Use e-Sword in the medium of Irishe-Sword can be used in the medium of Irish, by downloading and installing the language file 'e-Sword GUI Localization' from the e-Sword 'Downloads' page. To switch language in the program, click on Options > Language > Gaeilge 'An Bíobla Naofa' for e-Sword'An Bíobla Naofa' is available for e-Sword in the following files. When these files have been downloaded, extract them to a temporary folder. Use a suitable ZIP utility, or right-click the ZIP file and select ‘Extract All...’ if available. Note: to see the book introductions, click on the ABN tab on the Commentary, then click on Genesis and then on chapter 1. The first introduction should be visible. To see the other introductions, click on the 'Next Comment' icon repeatedly when in Genesis 1:1. Note: the above link is for the current version of e-Sword (v9+). For users with older versions (v8 and before), download the older version here. (Note: when using 'Copy Verses', tick 'Include character formatting' to ensure that all quote marks and apostrophes are copied.) Other Bible translations etc.
