Versification - Verse changes

An Bíobla Naofa (ABN) does not neatly fit into any major versification, so the KJVA versification has been chosen.  Since different translations often use slightly differing verse numbering schemes, these sometimes need to be harmonised when putting them into the fixed chapter/verse database structure of software programs.  This does not affect the integrity of the translation.

Where the text is spread over more or less verses than the software allows e.g. Psalm 4, the text is placed into the appropriate chapters and verse(s).  However, in all cases the original verse numbering is shown in braces.  As a result, the text of ABN is a parallel equivalent to English translations of the same Bible reference.

Where verse numbering is non-consecutive in the original ABN, it is made consecutive in the module, with the original order also listed, prefixed by "ABN:", e.g. Jeremiah 10.

Versification - Book changes

As well as the verse numbering and verse ordering changes mentioned above, some portions of books needed are assigned to different sections in some software versification schemes.  This affects a minority of the deuterocanonical content only - the deuterocanonical additions to Daniel and Esther.  It therefore does not affect the New Testament.  Below is a list of the changes required by the software programs.

e-Sword
